Casino King by Rebecca King published in 2021 is book one in the Carafano Crime Family. The Carafano Family is currently at war and one of the brothers is worried about keeping the woman he loves safe. This book was amazing, I am so glad that I read it.
Story
Alec Carafano is the younger brother of Leo who oversees the family. He owns Aces the hottest casino in Atlantic City. He is very protective of Tessa; he falls in love with her the minute he sees her, and he is always there to watch her dance. He didn’t want to involve her in his family’s war, but he just couldn’t stay away from her anymore.
Tessa Lyons is a dancer at Aces which is how she meets Alec; she has had a tough life; she lost her parents when she was a teenager leaving it just her and her brother only for him to die a couple of years later leaving her alone. Every night when she is done dancing she gets a gift from her mysterious strangers, whom she would look forward to seeing every week.
Alec’s brother and family were an interesting dynamic; The way Leo was so protective and was a little suspicious of her. I am excited about Leo’s story and to hear what happened with the woman that he was in love with.
A war is happening between the Carafano’s and another Italian family; I don’t want to say who because it would spoil the book. Alec has fallen in love with Tessa, and he is trying to protect her, while also helping his brothers with the war. The structure of the story was great, there was not too much going on. There was also just enough to keep me hooked and want to know what going to happen next.
Analysis
I think the book is great, I think if you have a love of dark romance and like your books to have plot twists then this is a good book for you. If you are a reader of mafia romance, and dark romance then this is the book for you.
