Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton Review

Haunting Adeline is the first book in the Cat and Mouse Duet. I had to read Satan’s Affair, a prequel to the Cat and Mouse Duet; but I was still shocked as I was reading this book. Haunting Adeline was so addicting it had me hooked from the very beginning I cannot wait to read the second and final book, Hunting Adeline.

Haunting Adeline

Adeline is a twenty-six-year-old author; she just inherited Parsons Manor from her grandmother. Parsons Manor is a gothic-looking house right on the cliff’s edge, surrounded by mystery. Adeline soon discovers her grandmother Gigi’s diary and learns more about her; she also starts digging into her murder to figure out who might have killed her.

Zade sees Adeline at one of her book signings, and from that moment forward he has his eyes set on her. As you are reading, it seems like her grandmother’s history with her stalker is also happening with Addie.

As I was reading, I kept thinking I love Zade and how everything that is happening to Adeline is one of my worst nightmares.

TW: graphic violence, dubious/non consent, stalking between main characters, explicit sexual situations, degradation, gun play, somnophilia, child trafficking, child death, human sacrifice.
